R.W. LaPine, Inc. has sponsored Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Benefit Dinner for the past 6 years, joining as a Presenting Sponsor for the last 3 years. Seelye Auto Group has been a sponsor for nearly 30 years, joining as a Presenting Sponsor for the first time this year.
Ryan LaPine, President of Operations at R.W. LaPine, Inc., met with us to discuss the mutual partnership and why they have invested so heavily in our mission.
“R.W. LaPine supports Big Brothers Big Sisters because… [as] a small family business that is tied to the Kalamazoo community, I feel strongly about doing good things for, and being a part of the community and giving back where we can,” LaPine says. “This opportunity to help children [in the community] is a perfect fit.“
R.W. LaPine, Inc. is one of Southwest Michigan’s largest HVAC, plumbing, pipe fitting, and sheet/custom metal fabrication providers in the area. They handle everything heating, cooling, plumbing, and metal fabrication for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. They employ around 300 people in Southwest Michigan.

Mike Seelye, President & CEO of Seelye Auto Group, feels strongly about mentoring and igniting the potential of local youth. A former Big, Seelye is a continuous advocate and supporter of the BBBS mission. He shares, “We need to provide for the… Littles in our community. That need doesn’t go away … It’s probably more real today than it ever has been.”
Seelye Auto Group is Southwest Michigan’s premiere group of car dealerships. Not only do they sell new and used vehicles, they also perform service, and supply auto parts. Serving Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Paw Paw, and a number of other cities, they explain, “If we aren’t exceeding your expectations, then we quite simply aren’t doing our jobs.” If you are in need of a new vehicle, you better see Seelye.
