March is Women’s Month! Throughout the month, Big Brothers Big Sisters will be commemorating the achievements of women in leadership roles across our agency.

Meet Nicole Godley, Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Associate Director of Administration. Nicole is a part of the Administration team, and helps to oversee all agency-related items for operations, human resources, IT, and general administration.

A NEW COMMUNITY

Nicole moved to Kalamazoo after her husband started working in the area, and she soon became involved in the local community. “I was really just looking to volunteer or get some temporary work while we were there on temporary assignment,” Nicole explains. “Then it turned into a career here.”

Nicole, who has since relocated to Alma, shares that her position gives her “insight into each piece of the puzzle” across the agency.

“Our work really pulls us together to be there for the community and we get to see how we make an impact. We also get to see how others make an impact on our agency,” she shares.

NATURE AND FAMILY

Nicole’s favorite way to relax is spending time with her husband and two English Setters, Rio and Lago. “They’re my kids! Literally all of my time is spent with them,” Nicole shares, smiling.

Much of that time is spent outdoors hiking or relaxing at the beach. Nicole’s dogs are even named after the outdoors! “Rio and Lago, so river and lake, is the trend there,” she explains.

MAKE A BIG IMPACT

When asked what she would say to someone considering become a Big, Nicole shares, “[Being a Big] will make a huge impact. We definitely are looking for volunteers, as we all know, and that’s truly the best way to help our agency at this time.”
