In a year focused on rebuilding, you have proven that we are Bigger Together.
Because of your generous support, more kids were able to meet their mentor this year. New program opportunities and partnerships are being developed and realized at every turn. Our community came back together, in person, at Bowl for Kids’ Sake, Benefit Dinner, and will again at Fire & Ice this weekend.
Volunteer recruitment events across our 4-county service area spread the word about youth optimistically waiting for their new mentor. High School Bigs programs started back up, and nearly 100% of our mentor/mentee matches have transitioned back to meeting together in person.
This work matters, and it could not have happened without your support.
Your support means matches like Jaliyah and Clare, who have been matched for nearly 5 years, are able to continue growing their friendship, with the support and expertise of Big Brothers Big Sisters staff.
Jaliyah has been there for every birthday I’ve had since we met. She was there when I got engaged and was even there when I got married... I can’t imagine my life without her.”Big Sister Clare, about her Little Sister Jaliyah
Their friendship started like every new match does- with lots of nerves and eager anticipation. Today, they consider one another family. Jenea, Jaliyah’s mom, feels the same way. She shares, “[Clare] is more than a Big Sister … I don’t think we could imagine our life without Clare and her family.“
You make it possible, from your financial support, to your volunteerism, to your sharing our emails and social media posts.
Thank you for the myriad ways you support Big Brothers Big Sisters.
You are igniting the power and promise of youth, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
