Benefit Dinner Rescheduled
This year’s annual Benefit Dinner has been rescheduled for Monday, September 21 due to COVID-19. We are grateful to this year’s speaker, baseball Hall of Famer Wade Boggs, for working with us to coordinate a new date for our largest fundraising event of 2020.
For eighteen years, Wade Boggs put his heart and soul into his professional baseball career. Playing for some of the most well-known Major League Baseball (MLB) teams, such as the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, he had the opportunity to play on the sport’s biggest stage, in the sport’s biggest games.
‘World Series Champion’ is only one of the numerous titles and accomplishments Wade has achieved. Others include being a twelve time MLB all-star, two time gold glove winner, five time American League batting champion, and an eternal member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Outside of his legendary baseball career, Wade is a family man and an avid outdoorsman. He took that same passion, drive, and determination with him from his career and funneled them into his family and the new hobbies he has found since the end of his playing days.
Wade has also found himself in front of the camera, but in a whole new way. He has had many notable TV appearances with shows such as The Simpsons, Cheers, and Seinfeld.
In his free time, Boggs and his wife, Debbie, are actively involved in fundraising for a large number and variety of charities nationwide. Key beneficiaries include the All Children’s Hospital of Tampa, and the Redbone Cystic Fibrosis organization.
