Downtown Battle Creek BBBS Office Reopens!

BBBSMI’s Battle Creek office has officially reopened! Located downtown in the Riverwalk Centre at 34 West Jackson Street Suite 5A, the office is now open on Tuesdays from 10AM-3PM.

“We never stopped serving Calhoun County, and we are thrilled to renew our physical presence in Battle Creek after closing the office due to the pandemic,” shares Amy Kuchta, Chief Executive Officer. “It’s exciting to have our team back working from the downtown office.”

“Reopening the office in Battle Creek means increased opportunities for Battle Creek youth to be mentored,” says Nathifa Sligh, Director of Programs.

The office reopening is taking place amidst a volunteer recruitment campaign for the agency. “Right now over 100 youth in Southwest Michigan are on our waitlist, eagerly waiting to meet with their mentor,” Sligh explains. “We are aiming to get each of them matched with their mentor by the end of the year.

“Youth who have been matched with a mentor for at least one experience an increase in social acceptance and self-confidence,” Sligh continues. “We can’t wait to see the impact the mentors here will make.
