For eighteen years, Wade Boggs put his heart and soul into his professional baseball career. Boggs played for some of the most well-known Major League Baseball (MLB) teams, including the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. He had the opportunity to play on the sport’s biggest stage, in the sport’s biggest games.
‘World Series Champion’ is only one of the numerous titles and accomplishments Boggs has achieved. Boggs is also a twelve time MLB All-Star, two time gold glove winner and five time American League batting champion. Most notably, he is an eternal member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
OFF THE FIELD
Outside of his legendary baseball career, Wade is a family man and an avid outdoorsman. Since playing, he’s taken the same passion, drive, and determination of his career, funneling them into his family and hobbies.
Wade has also found himself in front of the camera, but in a whole new way. He has made many notable TV appearances with shows such as The Simpsons, Cheers, and Seinfeld.
In his free time, Boggs and his wife, Debbie, actively fundraise for numerous charities nationwide. Key beneficiaries include the All Children’s Hospital of Tampa, and the Redbone Cystic Fibrosis organization.
IMPACT OF BENEFIT DINNER
Since 1978, the Annual Benefit Dinner has played an important role placing Bigs into the lives of local children.
Bigs defend the potential of the children they mentor. Bigs and Littles develop one-to-one friendships that ignite the power and promise of youth in our community.
By supporting the Annual Benefit Dinner, you play an important role in ensuring the success of our one-to-one mentoring programs. Funds from Benefit Dinner go toward recruiting new Bigs (mentors), to matching them with a Little (mentee), and then providing professional support for the life of the match. When you support Benefit Dinner, you defend potential.
