Board Member Spotlight: Katelyn Charbeneau


The Board Member Spotlight is on Katelyn Charbeneau who, in addition to being on the board of directors, is a Big Sister.

How long you’ve been on the board? I’ve been on board since May 2016, but have been volunteering for years. Since 2012? 2013? Wow! Has it really been that long?

Place of employment and title: The Wiser Financial Group, Director of Client Engagement

Why do you support Big Brothers Big Sisters? I have always been a strong proponent of mentoring, and lucky to have inspiring mentors in my own life. When you specifically look at the way BBBS approaches the concept of mentoring, it’s easy to see they have figured out the mentoring equation to make the most meaningful and positive impact for kids in our community. Through intentional matching, creative on-site mentoring programs and additional mentoring support throughout the match, this organization understands how to keep mentoring positive, productive and impactful. Not all mentoring programs are like that. We are really lucky our local BBBS organization is so dedicated to their work, their mission and kids in our area. It’s really inspiring to be a part of the legacy their work will leave on this community for generations to come.

Fun fact about you: Meghan Markle and I have the same “happy” song! Whitney Houston’s “I Want to Dance with Somebody.” Always makes my day hearing it!
