Match of the Month: Blake and Daniel

Congratulations to Little Brother Blake and Big Brother Daniel! These two are our November 2021 Match of the Month. Blake and Daniel are part of our High School Bigs program in Plainwell, where matches are able to spend time with one another at the Little’s school.

Every month we celebrate a match with this special recognition. This award honors a match’s dedication to each other and commitment to living out the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Michigan – empowering the potential of youth through one-to-one mentoring.

Blake and Daniel have been matched since November 2019. They met in person at Blake’s school, and were able to meet virtually during the pandemic. They look forward to meeting in person again soon.

Blake and Daniel were matched because of their chatty, easy-going nature. These two love spending time talking and catching up. When they were meeting virtually, Blake would often set up his computer outside so that he Daniel could meet his family pets! The last two years have had a lasting impact on them both.

Big Brothers Big Sisters asks each of its matches to define goals they would like to accomplish as part of their match. Matches discuss new goals on an annual basis. Most recently, they identified the following goals:

  • Have fun participating in virtual mentoring together
  • Talk about video games and other activities

They seem well on their way to achieving their annual goals. Your support ensures our team can support matches for the duration of their connection.
