Meet Little Brother DaMarvion and Big Brother David
Little Brother DaMarvion and Big Brother David were matched and met for the first time last month!
These two were paired because of their love of sports and being outside. Little Brother DaMarvion is an energetic and active 9 year old who loves basketball. Big Brother David is a former Big from Massachusetts and is excited to be a Big again. He’s a perfect match for DaMarvion since he also likes to play (and coach) basketball.
Since their match introduction meeting in early June, they’ve already spent time together taking the dog for a walk. David reported that when they passed a neighbor, DaMarvion excitedly introduced his Big Brother and shared how proud he was to have a Big.
Upon meeting for the first time, Big Brothers Big Sisters asks new matches to develop goals for their first year together. These are DaMarvion and David’s:
- Improve at playing basketball
- Find and read new books together
- Work on increasing self-confidence
DaMarvion is excited to be matched with David is looking forward to spending time exploring the outdoors in Kalamazoo with David, especially playing basketball.
David already sees DaMarvion’s potential. As they work on their match goals this year, DaMarvion will further own his potential, with David’s support.
