Meet Little Sister Amiriyae and Big Sister Sehvilla

Last month, Little Sister Amiriyae and Big Sister Sehvilla were matched due to their shared love of being outdoors and creating art.

During their first match meeting, they did their best to stay 6 feet apart and wore masks to keep each other safe. These safety protocols are part of the updated Match Agreement that every Big and Little have to sign before being permitted to meet in person again.

Amiriyae aspires to be a lawyer or judge. She enjoys playing basketball, visiting Sky Zone, roller-skating, swimming and reading. She is a straight A student who is often on the honor roll.

Sehvilla works as a radio reporter. In her free time, she likes to read, draw cartoons, play guitar, knit, paint, and go on hikes with her husband. She will strive to be a supportive mentor who makes a positive impact on Amiriyae’s life.

Big Brothers Big Sisters asks each of its matches to define 3 goals for their first year being paired. Amiriyae and Sehvilla’s goals are:

  1. Build a strong meaningful relationship by spending quality time together
  2. Explore different activities in the community and learn from each other
  3. Build trust between each other

During this unprecedented time, it is critical to keep children connected with caring adults who share their skills and help ignite their Littles’ potential.
